Recently, events like the Epstein files and Delhi missing cases have sparked waves of both news and fake news. For example, some claim Joe Biden is dead and has been replaced by a clone. Another one is that Michael Jackson visited Epstein’s island and started helping and rescuing those children, but somehow Epstein and his associates found out about this, killed him, and framed him as an abuser. A god became an abuser.
Take the recent Delhi missing cases. While the data showed a standard, though still tragic, trend, social media exploded with claims of a ‘mass kidnapping.’ When the rumor surfaced that it was just a marketing stunt for a movie, the public’s focus shifted from safety to anger at a film studio. The real victims were forgotten in the argument over whether the news was a PR stunt or not.

If this news is being spread on purpose, then why?
I do not want to explain it in depth because that is not the reason I am writing this article. I am writing this to open a new point of view for you guys.
In the Epstein files, there are some people who got hurt, and if news about them comes out, they might come up with a plan to start spreading news based on those people. The fake stories are either easily debunked or confusing enough that most people cannot make sense of them. Basically, they are creating a strawman with vulnerabilities, and people start proving it wrong, giving them a voice that did not exist before. Their cases or their news are also being treated as fake.
Before the spread of fake news, some people are neutral, but after this, some of their admirers start supporting them because of these events. By spreading lies or conspiracies, they create doubt around everything, including real events. So even legitimate stories, like real crimes, accidents, or victims, can get dismissed as fake because people are confused or overwhelmed by false information. I think it is not a problem if people notice this, but when I talked about the Delhi missing case, one of my friends actually believed the marketing stunt story without any proof.
So, guys, media are literally making you argue against fake news to create a fog over real incidents. Truth requires evidence. Lies only need confusion.
Next time you see a sensational claim online, ask yourself, what is the goal behind it?
